The Centre derives its curriculum from the English Early Years Foundation Stage 0-5 (EYFS) framework which provides guidance in supporting the learning and development of children in the early years.
The staff at Bumble Bee Learning Centre are dedicated and committed to helping each child reach their full potential. Each teacher works with five guiding principles:
Ladybirds (two year olds)
This stage places emphasis on social and emotional development. Children at this level learn about social conduct within their environment and also learn how to associate with both adults and children from various backgrounds and ethnic groups. The curriculum helps children acquire various skills including counting, speaking and manipulative dexterity. Progress to the next stage is dependent on assessment and age.
Butterflies/dragonflies (three year olds)
All three year olds are assessed to determine their emotional, social, physical and intellectual levels using a specifically designed diagnostic test. This is especially important to determine the developmental stage of each child and assess the specific curriculum needs required for progress into the reception year. The curriculum includes more specific language and number concepts as well as the development of fine motor skillsCentre's learning covers
