Nestled in Zambia's Western Province and in the midst of waterberry trees Matoya Fishing Lodge is an ideal holiday base, giving anglers the opportunity to catch trophy-sized bream and tiger fish. Also great for nature lovers. Six thatched en-suite chalets have a view of the upper Zambezi River. Matoya Fishing Lodge is a 15 minute boat ride from Lukulu air-strip, for air charters from South Africa. The Lodge is open from mid to late April until mid- November when the fishing season closes.

Safari lodge

Matoya Fishing Lodge offers six luxuriously furnished thatched chalets which comfortably accommodate up to 12 people. Relax in the comfort of the lounge area, cool down in the swimming pool and enjoy a drink on the wooden deck overlooking the Zambezi River and languish in the splendor of the African sunset.

Fishing

Matoya Fishing Lodge offers fresh water game fishing experience to the adventurous anglers. The worlds - renowned extreme fighting tiger fish, is indigenous to the fresh waterways of the Barotse floodplains of the upper zambezi. Large bream and trophy-sized tiger fish are plentiful as well as other species.
Guests do not require individual fishing licenses
All fishing is done on a catch and release basis
