Integrating crocodile farming with Aquaculture

In 1985, Kalimba Farm was established as the pioneer in combining crocodile farming with aquaculture. Currently, the farm incubates, hatches and raises crocodiles on-site, providing high-end crocodile products such as meat, oil and skin to both local and international markets. The Zambia Crocodile Farmers Association has a close working relationship with Kalimba.

A crocodile has a life cycle of about 5 years on the farm. We incubate, hatch and raise the crocodiles on site. There is no waste from the production of crocodiles as their skin, meat and even their fat are used. We pride ourselves on completing the entire cycle from birth to final products.

Great for a group excursion or family day out, Kalimba Reptile Park is a popular attraction offering lots of 'scaly' sites and activities including fishing. Nestling in the lush basin of the Ngwerere stream, this is one of the best tourist destinations in Lusaka that offers a fun filled day out for locals as well as international visitors. The reptile park is an extension of Kalimba Farms which specialises primarily in crocodile farming, but also produces top quality free range Pekin ducks, beef products, pork, game meat (seasonal) and fish. Their on-site restaurant services a wide variety of meals and beverages.
