Agritech Expo Zambia 2014
The month of April saw the birth of a major milestone for the agriculture industry in Zambia. The first ever outdoor agricultural expo, Agritech Expo Zambia, took place in Chisamba, Lusaka. Set on a 24 hectare site at the GART Research Centre, Agritech Expo brought together some of the world’s leading agricultural exhibitors and provided platforms for them to showcase their products and services.
The event was a full-scale, live agriculture event offering everything from first-hand demonstrations of the latest in large scale agricultural machinery to live crop trials. The Agritech Expo attracted more than 100 exhibitors in farm machinery, agrochemicals, seed and irrigation technologies, as well as agribusiness services. The outdoor expo was free for all agricultural professionals and a pre–register option had been made available.

The event was thoroughly organised and easily navigable with four sections available to visitors:
Display AreaThe outdoor display areas at Agritech showcased over 80 company’s products and farming solutions. Companies displaying at Agritech include SARO, Action Auto & Tractorzam.
Irrigation ZoneUnique to Agritech 2014, the Irrigation Zone allowed visitors to directly compare irrigation solutions from the world’s leading suppliers including Lindsay, Irritech, Agriplas, Copperbelt Irrigation and Green2000
Live Crop TrialsAgritech crop trials gave visitors a first-hand opportunity to see the effects and benefits of fetilisers and pesticides produced by exhibitors including BASF, Seed-Co, Zamseed, Klein Karoo and Du Point.
Working Demonstration AreasAgricultural machinery is a staple of every farm in every corner of the work. From tractors, combine harvesters, bakkies or quads the Agritech Expo made them all available. Interested parties were allowed to test drive the machinery and could buy it on the spot. 11 Working Demonstration Areas were made available at the show with companies like ActionAuto, John Deere SARO and Tractorzam exhibiting.
Expo TentThe Agritech Expo Tent was a destination for service and solution providers to compliment visitors’ business activities. From financial services, to insurance and professional consultations, the Expo Tent at Agritech was a one-stop shop to find all services needed to effectively manage an agricultural business.
