This Christmas promises to be one without stockings, let alone shoes! Hungry for more after the successful hosting of the ROAR festival in August, the bare footers from Barefeet Theatre are back, and this time, they have every intention of taking over Christmas! Barefeet Theatre is presenting a series of family friendly events to make your Christmas filled with fun, laughter, spectacle and a lot of Christmas Cheer.

The LabyrinthFollowing four years of enchanting Christmas performances, Barefeet will present 14 performances of their festive offering ‘The Labyrinth’. This year’s performance will be an action packed story which promises illusion, beautiful music, spectacle and daring choreography. The play will be directed by special Spanish guest director Montse Gili.

Barefeet’s Artistic Director Adam Mc Guigan says “The play is inspired by the popular children’s classic movie. Expect a magical spectacle, passion and lots of laughter wrapped in the Christmas spirit.”

The plotThe Labyrinth is a story that revolves around a girl named Sarah. One night she gets so annoyed with her brother’s unstoppable crying that she wishes he would just disappear. Unfortunately the Goblin King grants her this wish and her brother disappears. Her search for him leads her into the magical world of the Labyrinth where she must navigate her way between giants, talking worms and the bog of eternal stench. Will she make it to the centre of the Labyrinth before the clock strikes 12?

’Tis the season of goodwillIn keeping with Barefeet’s ultimate goal — paving a way for happy child development for children at risk of disengaging from their communities, using arts as a tool — Barefeet is inviting over 1,000 young people from Lusaka’s orphanages and drop in centres to share in the Christmas Activities and enjoy a bit of Christmas Spirit.
