Organisers of the Africa Fashion Reception have for a second time selected Faith Mulenga Kabende of Fay Designs to showcase her collection at the fashion show in Paris on Saturday Oct 25 2014. (In July, Fay participated in the Abuja Fashion Show courtesy of the same organisers.) Apart from representing Zambia, Fay will be among 30 designers from across Africa. “I am very excited. They (the organisers) said they were very impressed with what I showcased last time. They invited me for the second time and I am ready to showcase haute couture, ready to wear, shoes, bags and jewellery,” Fay said. Together with 29 other African designers, Fay will be showcasing her designs at the Salle Wagram in Paris.

The Fay Designs creative director makes assorted outfits ranging from wedding gowns to office wear. She also dresses first lady Dr Christine Kaseba among other prominent figures in the country.

The Africa Fashion Reception seeks to attract global attention to Africa’s rich and diversified dress culture as well as to expand the potential power of fashion as a tool of fighting poverty in Africa. The Paris show in conjunction with the Nigerian Embassy and the city of Paris will present the 30 designers representing different African countries to the European buying market and press

The African Fashion Reception selects just one designer from each participating country, through a precise screening process. The selected designer is then given a runway showcase and exhibition stand to promote fashion, life–style products and tourist potentials for their respective countries.

The Best of Zambia would like to congratulate Fay and her company on being selected for this high-profile Paris fashion show! Find out more about Fay Designs.
