On the 14th to the 16th of April 2016, 15,000+ of Zambia’s farming professionals will meet in Chisamaba. The Agritech Expo is the leading outdoor agriculture exhibition in Zambia, attracting a range of visitors and exhibitors including emerging farmers, smallholders, commercial farmers and agri experts. Liam Becket, Event Director of the Agritech Expo describes the event as, “A unique opportunity for them [Zambia’s farming professionals] to share best practice, get training, test and try out new products and technologies and brainstorm about current challenges such as productivity and competitiveness as well as the effects of current adverse weather conditions.”

2016 Agritech Expo offers Zambia’s farming community demos, training and business opportunities

The Agritech Expo is owned by the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU). It continues to innovate by offering partners and visitors more technology demonstrations, free workshops and opportunities to do business. This year the Agritech Expo offers Zambian farmers:

Agritech gets industry support for Zambia’s Farming community and outreach programme benefits future farmers

Leaders in Zambia’s agricultural industry support Zambia’s farming community through Agritech. ZANACO (Zambia National Commercial Bank) is returning as the exclusive Diamond Sponsor with AFGRI as Platinum Sponsors. Action Auto, JCB, John Deere, SARO and Zamseed are all Gold sponsors.

The Agritech Expo Outreach Programme is an on-going project which was launched last year. 540 students are already benefiting. The Golden Valley Basic School has 17 teachers and is based at the GART research Centre in Chisamba. Funds raised so far are helping the school with building renovations, equipment supplies and management of the school’s farm.
