SARO headquarters recently had the distinct honor of hosting Her Honour the Acting President of the Republic of Zambia, Mrs. W.K Mutale Nalumango, for a comprehensive tour highlighting the company’s advancements in mechanization, irrigation, and climate-smart energy solutions. This visit underscored SARO’s commitment to supporting government programs and fostering sustainable national and regional economic growth.
SARO Managing Director, Mr. Ashok Oza, articulated the company’s strategic vision, emphasizing its mission to enhance lives through sustainable practices. He reiterated SARO's dedication to empowering women and youth in agriculture through advanced farm mechanization and crop and food processing machines. He further highlighted SARO’s role in promoting employment and professionalism within the manufacturing and customer support service sectors.
During the tour, Acting President Nalumango commended SARO’s extensive range of solar products, which demonstrate the company’s innovative approach and readiness to collaborate with the government. In light of Zambia’s current drought, which has severely impacted power availability, the Acting President stressed the critical importance of solar pumps for irrigation. SARO’s display included the company’s manufactured Solar Center Pivot, solar submersible pumps, and solar surface pumps, all of which offer sustainable solutions to mitigate the effects of the drought.
Particularly noteworthy was the Acting President’s admiration for SARO’s solar-powered hammer mill, a pioneering innovation that promises to revolutionize both home and agricultural productivity. Mrs. Nalumango lauded the company’s array of agricultural mechanization equipment, recognizing its potential to significantly boost productivity across Zambia’s agricultural sector.
Moreover, the Acting President acknowledged SARO’s pivotal role in Zambia’s manufacturing industry. She expressed her satisfaction with the company’s efforts to produce and provide locally what was once only available from international markets. This shift not only strengthens Zambia’s industrial capacity but also aligns with the broader goals of economic self-sufficiency and resilience.
